You Never Had French Fries Like These Before…

Creating this recipe is a little more involved than putting some frozen potatoes in the oven, so make sure you have time to spare before getting to work. Before you get started, you'll need:

Ingredients To Gather:

  • 3 baking potatoes, 2 lb/1 kg
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) butter
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) chopped fresh rosemary
  • 3/4 tsp (4 ml) salt
  • 3/4 tsp (4 ml) pepper
  • 3/4 tsp (4 ml) sweet paprika
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) whipping cream

To get started, boil your potatoes in salted water for 20-25 minutes until they soften. Drain the excess water and let them cool in the fridge for 4 hours. When they're nice and cool, peel the potatoes and slice them into small cubes.

Fry up an onion in a skillet, then add the potatoes, rosemary, paprika, salt and pepper. Allow the potatoes to brown, stir them up a bit, then pour in the cream. Brown the other sides, then stir once more. Allow most of the cream to cook off, and make sure the potatoes are crispy brown on all sides.

Let them cool off for a while, but not too long! You want them to be crispy and warm when you serve them, of course.

Enjoy!
