The best part about this Grilled Cheese Sandwich is that you can use the pan over and over again. That way you do not lose out on any flavors. The genius use of the wine and mushrooms really took this dish to a whole other level.
Here Is Exactly What You Need To Do…
Directions To Follow:
- Begin by heating the butter and oil in a pan over medium heat, and then adding the onion.
- Saute until tender, which usually takes between 5 and 7 minutes.
- Next, add the garlic and thyme and saute for about a minute, or until it's fragrant.
- Then, add the cremini mushrooms.
- Saute for between 10 and 15 minutes, or until they start to become carmelized and turn brown.
- Next, add the wine and deglaze the pan. Cook for between 2 and 3 minutes, or until most of the liquid has evaporated.
- Now, add salt and pepper and parsley and remove from heat.
- Let it cool before adding the cheese.
- Butter each slice of bread and place them face down, two at a time, in the pan.
- Place half of the mushroom mixture on each and then place the other slices of bread on top with the buttered side facing up.
- Grill for about 2 to 4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese melts.
Finished!
Wow… That sounds amazing – We may just make this for lunch every day. What's great about this recipe is that this sandwich is hearty and filling all on its own, but you can also pair it with soup or a salad for a lunch or light dinner. We recommend making it both ways.
