This Creamy Stew With Biscuits Is The Ultimate Comfort Food – Nothing Tastes Better On A Cold Day!

Here's everything you need to make this savory beef stew. It makes between 8 and 10 servings, which means there will be plenty for everyone!

Let's Get Started…

Ingredients To Gather:

  • 2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 2 beef bouillon cubes

  • 2 cups boiling water

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 6 to 8 small potatoes, peeled and quartered

  • 3 small onions, quartered

  • 4 carrots, sliced

  • 1 package (9 ounces) frozen cut green beans, thawed

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 4 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 3/4 to 1 cup milk

Directions To Follow:

  1. Start by coating the cubes of beef with flour, and then placing meat in a Dutch oven and browning it on all sides using oil. Then, dissolve the bouillon in boiling water and add it to the Dutch oven, before seasoning with salt and pepper. Cover and simmer until the meat is tender, which usually takes between 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Then, add the potatoes, onions, carrots and beans and cook until the vegetables are tender. This should take between 30 and 45 minutes. Combine the corn starch and water and then add to the stew, cooking until it thickens and becomes bubbly.
  2. Now you'll make the biscuits. To do this, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, oil and milk in a large bowl and stir. You should have a dough that's soft and light. Drop it on top of the stew in tablespoon-sized dollops and coat the tops of the biscuits with melted butter. Bake for between 20 and 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Finished!

This hearty beef stew sounds delicious and oh so appetizing! We especially love that it's a meal in itself, which makes your job much easier because there's just one thing to make. Plus, it's ideal for both lunch and dinner.

Enjoy!
