Sink your teeth into something special for dessert with these bright and flavorful lemon squares. With a little help from Martha Stewart, your family will think your a five-star pastry chef.
Let’s Get Started…
Things You Will Need:
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature, plus more for pan
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar, plus more for dusting
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour, (spooned and leveled)
4 large egg yolks
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
3/4 cup fresh lemon juice (from about 3 lemons)
How To Prepare:
Start off by prepping your oven and your pan. Preheat your over to 350 degrees, the perfect temp for this recipe! Then get out your favorite baking dish and line the bottom of it with buttered parchment paper. Don’t forget to use enough paper to have an overhang on both sides of the pan.
Now it’s time to make the crust! This step is easier to execute with with an electric mixer; just FYI. Combine butter, sugar and salt. It should be nice and fluffy by the time you add your flour. Now you’ve created your dough! Put it in your parchment lined pan and bake for about 20 minutes, until golden brown. Take hot crust pan out of oven.
While your crust is baking, go ahead and make your filling. Whisk together your yolks, condensed milk, and lemon juice. Make sure it is nice and smooth before you pour over your hot crust pan. Put the whole thing back into the oven and bake for another thirty minutes.
Remove from oven and let the whole thing cool completely before moving forward.
At this point, I like to pop it in the fridge and come back to it in about three hours. You can also let it set in the fridge for up to three days.
Using the parchment paper, remove cake and place on a cutting board. Cut into squares, or whatever shape you want, and then dust with confectioners sugar.
Finished!
Note: You should consider making a double batch, because we are simply obsessed with these creamy lemon squares. Thank you Martha Stewart.

best clean food recipes super fan !
Agreed… Amazing
Nice info thanks a lot I really love good food
I made this and they are VERY good, but they don’t turn out with a crust like in the picture above. They must have put something else on top for this picture! I would recommend this to anyone who likes lemon things. Not too sweet, not too tart, just perfect! and it’s true – VERY easy to make! And there are 7 ingredients but who’s counting? LOL!
I used an 8 X 8 inch glass pan
Even after serving time….Martha’s still got it!
Sooooo funny !!
