If These Tender & Juicy Steak Tips With Homemade Gravy & Rice Don’t Get You Excited Nothing Will!

This has to be the easiest crock pot recipe ever… the ingredients are really simple to acquire. All you really need to do is throw everything in the pot.

Ingredients To Gather:

  • 2 pounds beef stew meat
  • 1 (10.75-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (1.61-ounce) packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 beef bullion cube
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 small onion, chopped

Once you have everything together it's time to toss it inside the crock pot. However, there is one more thing you need to do before you let it simmer and stew for a few hours.

    This sounds really nasty. We used to use gravy mixes all the time when I first got married, because my homemade gravy was so bad. It was the one thing my mom didn’t teach me how to make. I finally got her to show me how, and the difference in taste is like comparing prime rib to chipped beef. The packaged stuff doesn’t even taste like gravy, it’s just a salty, pasty mess, and cream of mushroom soup, while great to use in casseroles, is not the thing to use if you actually want the taste of mushrooms.

    My mother used to make smothered kidneys and rice. I use to love that as a child. And she made the most tender cube steak. I’ve not mastered it yet. but this reminds me of that.
