Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork

Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork

I like anything that goes in a crock pot because I can put this all together and then go to work. When I come home all I had to do was take it out , let it cool and have a tasty meal to enjoy with my kids.

This sauce is really good. You are going to love it. I recommend you use it with pork but chicken and beef are just as good.

The Ingredients To Gather Up

4 ½ pounds pork shoulder
2 yellow onions
1 ½ tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon kosher salt, or to taste
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 ½ can of Dr. Pepper
½ cup BBQ sauce

Directions To Follow

Step One

Combine paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, cinnamon in a bowl and mix together.

Step Two

Rub the outside of the pork shoulder with your dry ingredients.

Step Three

Peel and slice your yellow onions and put them into your slow cooker.

Step Four

Put your pork shoulder into your slow cooker on top of the onions.

Step Five

Pour Dr. Pepper over your pork and onions.

Step Six

Cook on low heat for 7 hours. Shred pork with a fork and then let it finish cooking in its juices for 30 minutes.

When you are finished cooking your pulled pork recipe put it on a bun and then you are done! This is a tasty recipe that is rich in flavor and only improves in taste when it is refrigerated for an hour or overnight… I think that applies to anything that has sauce though.

You can add more BBQ sauce if you like your pork a little saturated. I always double the recipe since I can use this on other things.

If you have tried this before & like it tell us about it.
